Returning to the True Homeland with Loyalty to the End

Remembering Urip Lakasana DKP (1969 – 2024)
Throughout his life in the DIAZ organization, Urip Lakasana DKP was always known as a man of strong character. This showed in his physical features: a small, handsome face and a nimble gait, as if he were jogging lightly. From his appearance, people could also see his brisk, straightforward, decisive and agile nature.
Urip joined the DIAZ nature-lover organization in 1990 with member number D. 13959 Elang Jawa, and completed his education up to senior high school at Muhammadiyah 7, Jalan Sumbersari, Malang. In his family life, he had a wife and three children, and for many years lived on Jalan Sumbersari. He passed away on Jalan Rampal after fighting an illness for two years.
From the moment he first joined, Urip was known as a disciplined DIAZ member who always attended every organizational activity with enthusiasm. Through his participation, his character, mentality and personality were shaped, and he gained many important values from DIAZ: humility, resilience in surviving, a creative spirit, and the meaning of sharing with others. From this he grew into a mentally mature person, becoming one of the best cadres the DIAZ organization has had. He devoted nearly half of his life to serving this organization.
Over his long organizational journey, he was entrusted to serve as secretary, and then as Chairman of DIAZ for the 1993 period. While leading, he ran the organization with a great sense of responsibility and succeeded in bringing progress to DIAZ in his time. Even when various difficult problems came to test the organization, he remained steadfast and consistent, never ceasing to look for the best way out.
His dedication was truly immeasurable. Even at the age of 56, in his final days when illness had begun to weaken his body, he still made time to take part in DIAZ activities. This resolve and struggle were carried out amid limited means and physical strength because of his illness. His last job as an online motorcycle taxi driver was a humble livelihood to meet his family's needs.
Through a wide network of friendships with colleagues in government, political parties and the business world, Urip managed to open many opportunities for DIAZ. He worked to strengthen the organization's existence, and even once submitted a proposal through which the organization received government assistance via the JASMAS program. Thanks to that assistance, the organization has been able to keep running well to this day.
As a nature explorer, Urip had his own view: true wealth is not property that can be stored away, but loyalty and service. He strove for DIAZ to grow into a good, healthy organization that is beneficial to many people, the same spirit he showed in protecting nature and nurturing members to become empowered individuals.
With a sincere heart he served the organization, never hesitating to attend various activities both within and outside DIAZ. Together with his companions he went through many nature journeys: mountain climbing, forest exploration, community service to protect the environment, and taking part in SAR in the greater Malang area. In between those journeys, he constantly shared the values of brotherhood, which he then also brought into every organizational activity. To him, protecting nature, nurturing togetherness and being active in an organization were three interconnected things that could not be separated from one another.
On Tuesday afternoon, this finest son of DIAZ was called home by the Most Nurturing and Merciful. Nearly half of his life he had poured into DIAZ. The legacy he leaves behind consists of the values of dedication, loyalty, a protective attitude toward others, creativity in ideas and thinking, and a spirit of sacrifice.
Now he returns to his true homeland, toward eternity, with a loyalty that lasted to the end. His footsteps will remain alive in the memory of every DIAZ member and all the friends who knew him.
Farewell, Mas Urip. Thank you for all your service.
